Plastisol inks don’t dry up when left exposed to the air so you can reclaim excess ink after a job and reuse it another time. The drawback is that to cure the print you need to put it through a dryer and that stiffens the ink and that’s not appealing for every print application. Bandanas are pretty light to start with so you don’t want to make them feel like a bulletproof shield by adding a plastisol print, especially if you’re aiming for all over coverage!

If you aren’t very familiar with screen printing, it’s not difficult to grasp. The process gets its name from the silk mesh screens that are used to distribute the ink onto the garment. Each part of the design that is of the same color is etched into its own silk screen that is covered with an emulsion. The emulsion does not let any ink pass through the screen so wherever the design is, the emulsion is removed. The screens are then loaded onto the printing press and positioned over the blank garments. Colored inks are squeegeed across the screens, one color at a time, until the final image is completed. The printed garment is then put through a dryer to set the ink and just like that, you have your own custom screen printing clothing!
