For the best results you are going to want to use a light-colored flat surface. Next you are going to want to make sure that the metal parts you are screen printing are clean and dry for the screen printing process to work. To remove the particles and any discoloration scrub the metal parts with a rough end of a sponge. Also to remove all grease or adhesive, rub the metal parts with rubbing alcohol. Adding a layer of polyurethane with a sponge brush to the metal parts will prevent any and all rusting. Polyurethane also seals the metal surfaces but you must let it dry completely before printing on it.

The next few steps are the basic screen printing steps. Take your screen and coat it with a photosensitive emulsion, dry it with a light, and then burn it with the artwork or design. Once that is done your ready to load up the screen on the printing press and cover the screen evenly with ink of your choosing. After you spread the ink evenly across the design, remove the screen and let the metal parts sit and dry, to speed up the drying time you may use a fan on low.
